Sundays in my City – Sensational Strawberries

03 Apr

Unknown Mami

After a crazy work week we had another busy weekend.  This morning we had a birthday party to go to and I had work for a few hours.  When all that was done, we were miles away from home, in the outer suburbs wondering what to do when I remembered seeing a sign to pick organic strawberries.  I couldn’t imagine strawberries still being in season but we thought we would check it out anyway.  I am so glad we did.

Strawberry Fields

One for me...

And one for me too!

Look at stash!

A tiny little delicious strawberry

Voted the Perfect Strawberry!

Who would have thought there would be a strawberry farm less than 20 minutes drive away from our house?  I imagined that we would have to go to the country to go berry picking, not just to the ‘burbs!

I was so glad we found this strawberry farm.  Even better, there should still be berries to pick for another month or so!

To see what other fun things have been happening in other corners of the world, head on over to the amazing Unknown Mami and join in with the Sunday in the City fun.

An added bonus – Visit a berry farm was #39 on my list of 101 things to do in 1001 days!

Yum! I got given a huge box of strawberries from the same place last week from a friend. Good find!!

They also have school groups out for excursions. The kids at our school loved it.

    Yummy straberries!
This time of the year we have to buy imported strawberries but they are good and of course very expensive!
    Have a good week ahead!

Gorgeous photos! Strawberry picking always makes for the best photos and a great time. It’s strawberry picking time here too. YUM! So, what are you going to do with that stash? Will you freeze some?

Those berries look delicious. What fun way to spend the day. I would eat more than I took home though.
