This week’s Sunday in my City was actually on Saturday. I worked at a local community celebration to mark the end of Ramadan and share the spirit of Eid with the wider community. The kids joined me there for a while and had a great time running around hyped up on fairy floss and snow cones! They were there early enough to climb onto the rides before the queues became insanely long. In fact they were first to go on the Jungle Slide. Unfortunately when they were at the top, about to slide down the generator shut down and the slide began to collapse. They sunk down into the giant airbag and freaked out!
Once it was reinflated (less than a minute later), boy-child declared it wasn’t safe and climbed back down the ladder. Girl-child figured she was ready to go, she may as well slide down. She loved it and had another slide, and another and another…
Boy-child wasn’t too keen on hanging around once he had had his fill of sugary goodness so he headed home. Girl-child was loving running wild and making new friends so she stayed around and had her face painted.
I had a great day ‘working’ at the festival. Not only did I spend some time with my kids, I also met some wonderful new people and caught up with old friends that I haven’t seen in months, including the most adorable little girl on the planet.
And yes, she is as adorable in real life as she is in photos!
Happy Sundays in my City. Head over to Unknown Mami to check out who else is playing along.
